Neither is useful if you're actually trying to figure things out.

  • What it really costs to start (the real cost, not "free")
  • What you can realistically earn in the first months

Spoiler: it's not a money-printing machine, but it's not a scam either. It's a serious system with clear rules, where a few earn a lot, the majority recoup the discount on products, and a chunk leave after 6-12 months with no financial results. Same as any other commercial activity.

What "FitLine Distributor" Actually Means

The official technical term isn't "distributor" but Team Partner. PM-International uses this name for people who register in the direct-selling system (network marketing / MLM).

As a Team Partner you have the right to:

  1. Buy products at a discount (from -20% to -40% depending on rank)
  2. Sell products to your own customers (earning on the margin)
  3. Introduce other Team Partners and receive bonuses on their volume (downline)
  4. Participate in company incentives (trips, cars, leader bonuses)

You are NOT required to sell, recruit, or hit minimum volumes to "stay in." If you stop ordering for a year, they deactivate your account, but you can reactivate it.

The Real Costs of Starting as a FitLine Distributor

A lot of distributors aren't straight about this. Here's the truth.

Fixed Registration Cost

In Italy, the base Team Partner signup: around 15-20 EUR one-time (varies year to year, covers the initial informational materials). There's no mandatory monthly "membership" fee.

Nearly-Mandatory Cost: First Order

To actually activate your code and unlock all the benefits, you need a first order. The technical minimum is low (a few euros), but in practice everyone starts with the PowerPack / Optimal Set (128.70 EUR public, 102.96 EUR with Team Partner discount).

If you want to be an active distributor in the incentive system, you essentially need to place monthly orders of around 92.66 EUR (Autoship Optimal Tour-set). That's the "real cost" of being actively in.

Optional but Sensible Costs

  • Action Pack starter for ambitious Team Partners: 300 to 1,500 EUR of discounted products to resell/use (not mandatory)
  • Training and events: about 50-200 EUR/year if you want to attend national meetings
  • Personal marketing materials (website, printing, social ads): whatever you decide

The REAL Cost of the First Year

If you do the bare minimum:

  • Signup: 20 EUR
  • Autoship 12 months: 92.66 x 12 = 1,111.92 EUR

First-year total: around 1,130 EUR, but 1,110 of that is products you consume yourself. You're essentially shifting your supplement spend over to PM-International.

How Much You Actually Earn as a FitLine Distributor

Tough section. I'll try to be as honest as possible, with real numbers without the usual inflated brochure examples.

Official Stats: The Majority Don't Earn

Based on public data from MLM companies in general (and FitLine is no exception):

  • About 60-70% of Team Partners earn less than 50 EUR/month or nothing. They use the status only for personal discounts.
  • About 20-25% earn between 50 and 500 EUR/month. Typically these are people with 5-15 regular customers.
  • About 5-10% earn between 500 and 3,000 EUR/month. They have a downline of 30-100 active people.
  • Less than 1-2% earn more than 3,000 EUR/month. They're leaders with teams of hundreds or thousands of people.

These numbers hold for any serious MLM, not just FitLine. Anyone telling you "everyone makes a lot of money" is either lying or doesn't know what they're talking about.

Real Margins

As a distributor with 20% personal discount: if you buy 150 EUR retail, you pay 120 EUR. Savings = 30 EUR. If you sell at full price to a customer, you earn 30 EUR.

As a Manager with 30% discount: on 150 EUR retail you pay 105 EUR. The margin climbs to 45 EUR.

Downline bonuses: when those you introduced buy or sell, you receive a percentage (varies from 3% to 21% depending on rank and volumes). These are pennies on small volumes, they only become interesting with active teams of at least 10-20 people.

Realistic First-Year Scenarios

Scenario 1 - Personal discount: no customers, just using it for yourself and family. Savings of 250-400 EUR/year compared to full retail. Net financial earnings: 0 EUR. Real savings: about 300 EUR.

Scenario 2 - Part-time distributor: 5 regular customers + 2-3 new Team Partners in the year. Realistic income: 100-300 EUR/month (depends on volumes).

Scenario 3 - Active distributor: 15-30 customers + 5-10 Team Partners in the downline. Income: 300-800 EUR/month from year two.

Scenario 4 - Ambitious full-time distributor: 50+ people between customers and active downline. Income: 1,000-3,000 EUR/month. Takes 2-3 years of steady work.

Anything above 3,000 EUR/month is the territory of a handful of long-standing leaders. Don't expect it in the first 2 years.

The 3 Real Pros of Becoming a FitLine Distributor

1. Lifetime Discount on Products You'd Use Anyway

If you already use FitLine or premium supplements, becoming a Team Partner saves you 20-30% forever. For many people that alone is enough reason to sign up.

2. Serious, Long-Standing Company

PM-International has been around since 1993, operates in 40+ countries, with public multi-billion revenues. It's not a startup that shuts down tomorrow. Sign-ups walk into an already-established system.

3. Total Flexibility

No schedule, no boss, no volume obligations. You work when and how much you want. If you have little time in a given month, nothing bad happens.

The 3 Real Cons (That Others Won't Tell You)

1. It's Real Work, Not Passive Income

Anyone promising you passive income after 6 months is telling you fairy tales. The first 2 years are hard work of relationships, training, contacts. After year two or three you can have a team-based residual, but you get there through effort.

2. The Majority Quit Within 12 Months

In my groups, out of 10 people who sign up as active distributors (not just for the discount), after 1 year 3-4 remain active. The others drop out because they don't see quick results or because it's not their kind of activity.

3. The "Word-of-Mouth with Friends" Factor Isn't for Everyone

If you're uncomfortable talking about a product or asking relatives to try it, network marketing isn't for you. It works with people who are genuinely enthusiastic about what they sell.

Active Team Partner vs Discount Customer: The Crucial Difference

This is the most important distinction nobody explains to you at the start. You sign up as a Team Partner, but then you pick one of two paths:

Path A - Discount Customer (Consumer):

  • You use the products for yourself
  • You buy with 20-30% discount
  • You don't sell, don't recruit, you're not active
  • Goal: save, not earn

Path B - Active Distributor:

  • You build a client base of 10-50 people
  • You introduce other Team Partners
  • You participate in training, events, calls
  • Goal: generate a second income or a primary one

Over 70% of Team Partners worldwide are on Path A. There's nothing wrong with that. It's legitimate to use the status purely for the discounts.

Operating Internationally as a FitLine Distributor

One very interesting thing: once you're registered as a Team Partner in Italy, you can operate in any country where PM-International operates, without registering again. That means:

  • If you have relatives or friends in Germany, Spain, USA, Mexico: they can buy using your sponsor code
  • You get bonuses even if they buy from Germany
  • Many people with families split between Italy and South America or the UK do exactly this

Prices differ by country (the US dollar is different from the euro, etc.), but the system tracks your aggregate volumes for rank calculation.

When NOT to Become a FitLine Distributor

In my opinion, it doesn't make sense to sign up as an active Team Partner if:

  1. You hate selling or the idea of "recommending something to someone" makes you miserable
  2. You don't use supplements - you can't credibly sell a product you don't consume
  3. You're looking for "immediate income" to pay next month's bills - go get a salaried job
  4. You don't have 5-10 hours a week to dedicate for at least 12-18 months
  5. You expect someone to do the work for you - your sponsor can help you but can't sell for you

In these cases, sign up as a customer or at most as a "discount-only" Team Partner (Path A) and carry on with your life.
