Cards on the table right away: I'm Alfio Nicolosi, Independent PM-International Distributor (FitLine). I'm biased, and pretending otherwise would be ridiculous. What I can give you is a good-faith comparison: I'll say what Zinzino does well — and it does several things well — and where FitLine falls short.
One point that applies to both: supplements are not medicines, they don't treat or prevent disease. When I mention nutrients I use only the claims authorised by the European Union. No promises, no numbers, no transformation photos.

Zinzino: what it is, how it's positioned and its product line
Zinzino is a Swedish direct-selling company based in Gothenburg. It has a rare characteristic in this industry: it's publicly listed, so its financials are public and its numbers can be verified by anyone. In a world where financial transparency is often murky, that's a point in their favour and I'm happy to say so.
Its positioning revolves around one idea: measure instead of guess. The signature product is BalanceOil, which combines fish oil (a source of EPA and DHA) with polyphenol-rich olive oil, sold alongside the BalanceTest: an at-home kit with a dried blood spot on a card, sent off to an independent laboratory, which returns your fatty acid profile, including the omega-6/omega-3 ratio.
I need to be crystal clear here, because this is the most misunderstood point: the test is a feature of the Zinzino service — that is, a lab measurement. It is not a diagnosis, it is not a medical device, and it doesn't tell you whether you're well or unwell. It's a number. What it means for you is a question for your doctor, not for a salesperson — neither theirs, nor me.
The rest of the range: ZinoBiotic+ (fibre), Xtend (multivitamin-multimineral), Viva (polyphenols), LeanShake (meal replacement), plus a skincare line. Zinzino has also brought part of its production in-house by acquiring a Norwegian manufacturer: a sign of industrial solidity.
On the nutrients, here's all that can be said in the EU: EPA and DHA contribute to the normal function of the heart (250 mg/day); DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function and normal vision (250 mg/day). For olive oil polyphenols, the authorised claim states that they contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress, under the specified conditions of use. Anything you read outside those exact wordings is not permitted.
FitLine: what it is, how it's positioned and its product line
FitLine is the brand of PM-International, a German company founded in 1993 by Rolf Sorg and headquartered in Speyer. It's private and family-controlled: it doesn't publish financials the way a listed company does, and on that front — honestly — Zinzino is more transparent.
The positioning isn't "one product and a test", it's broad-spectrum daily micronutrition: covering the basic nutrients with formats that are easy to use every day.
- Activize Oxyplus — an effervescent drink with B vitamins and vitamin C. EU claims: vitamin C contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue; vitamins B2, B6 and B12 contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism.
- Restorate — an evening formula with minerals. Magnesium contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system; calcium and vitamin D contribute to the maintenance of normal bones.
- PowerCocktail — a multi-nutrient sachet with vitamins and minerals.
- FitLine Omega 3 — capsules with EPA and DHA: the exact same EU claims cited above for Zinzino apply. Neither company can say more than that.
- Fitness Drink, Protein, and the Skin/Beauty line.
Two different philosophies: omega-3 balancing vs micronutrition and transport (NTC)
This is the real fork in the road, and it isn't a question of "who's better".
Zinzino starts from a measurable parameter. Test, value, product, second test a few months later: a linear path, with a beginning and a check-up. It appeals to people who think in numbers. It's an orderly method — and it's also an excellent marketing lever.
FitLine starts from the formulation. The proprietary concept is called NTC — Nutrient Transport Concept, and it concerns how nutrients are combined and carried. Said honestly: NTC is a proprietary company concept, not a shared scientific standard. It's the name PM-International gives to its own approach. Anyone selling it to you as a revolutionary discovery is selling you something.
In short: Zinzino optimises one parameter, FitLine covers a broad base. Both approaches are legitimate.
The products compared
| Need | Zinzino | FitLine |
|---|---|---|
| Omega-3 (EPA/DHA) | BalanceOil, the heart of the range | FitLine Omega 3, present but not central |
| Multivitamin | Xtend | PowerCocktail, Basics |
| Fibre | ZinoBiotic+ — a strong point | Present, less central |
| Evening minerals | Not a focus | Restorate |
| Sports / performance | Limited range | Dedicated range |
| Protein / meal | LeanShake | Protein, Shape line |
| Personalised test | Yes | No |
If you want an omega-3 with a guided, measured path, Zinzino has the offer built most closely around that need. If you want a broad daily base and a sports range, FitLine covers more ground. I've written a similar comparison here too: FitLine vs Herbalife.
Prices and costs
Price lists change often and vary by country: what follows is indicative, so always check the official sources.
Zinzino. The classic entry point is the "test + oil" kit: it covers several months and therefore carries a higher upfront outlay. Refills have a full price and a discounted price if you activate a subscription. The model is built around a multi-month commitment: consistent with the test-retest logic, but worth knowing before you start.
FitLine. You can buy a single product: no mandatory kit, and your monthly cost depends on how many products you choose.
The advice applies to both: don't compare the price of the package, compare the cost per daily dose and how many days it covers. Both sit in the premium bracket: neither is the budget choice, and anyone telling you otherwise isn't being straight with you. If you go with FitLine, you'll find the 5% discount code on my site.
The business models compared
Both are direct selling / network marketing companies: the products reach you through people, not through shops, and with both you can register as a distributor.
You won't find any earnings figures and no income promises here. I can't make them and I wouldn't. The two things that matter:
- Neither business guarantees an income. Both publish an official compensation plan: read it before you sign, not after.
- Be wary of anyone — me included — who shows you numbers, screenshots or cars. If the conversation starts with earnings rather than with the product, it's already started badly.
A structural difference: Zinzino, being listed, has a public financial transparency that PM-International, as a private company, does not. A point in Zinzino's favour, no way around it.
Zinzino pros and cons
Pros
- A listed company: public, verifiable financials.
- A focused flagship product that's easy to understand.
- The "test → product → retest" path is orderly and appeals to people who think in data.
- Partly in-house production, with a stated focus on raw material traceability.
Cons
- A narrow range: for broad nutritional coverage you'll need to supplement elsewhere.
- A higher cost of entry, because of the kit.
- The test-retest model implicitly pushes you towards a commitment of several months: legitimate, but know it going in.
- The test is often badly explained by the people selling it: a lab value is not a diagnosis or a promise of wellbeing.
- Not everyone likes the taste and texture of the oil.
FitLine pros and cons
Pros
- Over 30 years of history and an established presence in Europe.
- A broad range: you can build supplementation that fits you.
- Practical formats: sticking with it day to day is easier.
- No mandatory kit: you can start with a single product.
Cons
- A private company: less public financial transparency than Zinzino. That's a real limitation.
- No baseline test: if you love to measure, that's a mark against it.
- NTC is a proprietary concept, not a recognised scientific standard.
- Premium price bracket.
- The breadth of the range can be confusing: without guidance you risk buying more than you need.
Which to choose, based on your goal
- You're specifically interested in omega-3 and want a baseline measurement → Zinzino is more coherent with that goal. I'm saying that as a FitLine distributor, and I mean it.
- You want a simple daily nutritional base you can actually keep up → FitLine is built for that.
- You compete in sport → always verify anti-doping certifications directly through the manufacturer's official channels and on the batch you buy, whichever brand you choose.
- You want to start with a small outlay → FitLine, because you can buy a single product with no kit.
- You put corporate transparency above everything → a listed company like Zinzino gives you more public documents to read.
- You have a medical condition, take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding → don't make your choice based on an article on the internet. Talk to your doctor. No supplement replaces a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
Frequently asked questions
Is Zinzino a scam? No. It's a real company, listed on a regulated exchange, with real products. "Scam" is a word thrown around far too loosely in this industry, often by competitors. The right question is: "does this product, at this price, do anything for me?".
Is Zinzino's BalanceTest reliable? It measures your fatty acid profile through an independent laboratory: it's an analytical result with descriptive value. What it is not: a diagnosis, a medical examination, or an indicator of your state of health. I don't infer any benefit from a lab value, and I'd encourage you to be wary of anyone who does.
Can I use FitLine and Zinzino together? They're different supplements, but be careful not to double up on the same nutrients and exceed the recommended daily amounts: more does not mean better. If you take medication or have a medical condition, ask your doctor before combining anything.
Which one costs less? It depends what you buy. Compare the cost per day of use, not the price of the package. Both are in the premium bracket.
Are you biased in this comparison? Yes, and I said so in the first line. That's why I've given Zinzino's strengths full credit and laid out FitLine's limitations without hiding them. Check for yourself: read the official sites, look at the labels, ask for the compensation plan before signing up to any business. You're also welcome to take a look at the FitLine products and form your own view.
