ProShape All-in-1 in 30 seconds: this is FitLine's meal replacement, a powder you shake up that gives you fewer than 250 kcal per serving along with protein, fibre, vitamins and minerals. Its job is to take the place of one or two meals a day inside an energy-restricted diet: that is the only use for which the "contributes to weight loss" wording is authorised in Europe. It costs 43.69 euro in Italy for 13 servings, roughly 3.36 euro per meal. And watch out for one detail nobody mentions: the flavours are not all the same. Chocolate is vegan and built on pea protein, Bourbon Vanilla is milk-based. All of them contain a little caffeine.

I'm Alfio Nicolosi, independent FitLine Team Partner: I earn a commission on purchases made through my links, so take this review for what it is, the opinion of somebody who uses the product and sells it. I lost more than 30 kg, and ProShape was useful at one specific point in that journey, which I'll describe below. It was not "the secret".

What ProShape All-in-1 is

ProShape All-in-1 is a meal replacement for weight control, made in Germany for PM-International and part of FitLine's weight management line. By law a meal replacement has to respect precise requirements: a ceiling on calories, a minimum share of protein and a compulsory list of vitamins and minerals. ProShape meets them, and that is what separates it from an ordinary protein shake, which has no obligation whatsoever to be "complete".

One serving gives you:

  • Fewer than 250 kcal in the prepared shake.
  • Protein: milk and whey protein in the Bourbon Vanilla version, pea, sunflower and pumpkin protein in the Chocolate version.
  • Fibre: inulin, oats, and in some flavours wheat fibre.
  • A complete set of vitamins and minerals: C, the B group, A, D, E, K, calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc, selenium, manganese, iodine.
  • Plant extracts of green coffee, green mate and nettle.
  • Sugar and stevia: it contains sugar. The amount is the one you would expect from a meal replacement, so this is not a "zero" product.
  • Caffeine, from the green coffee and the mate: 6.6 mg per 100 ml of prepared shake, so around 20 mg per serving. Not a lot, but the label still says it is not suitable for children or pregnant women.

It is formulated with the company's NTC technology and is part of the Cologne List anti-doping control programme.

The flavours: which one to choose (and which ones are vegan)

Six flavours, and this is where the most important practical difference lies:

FlavourProtein baseSuitable for
ChocolatePea, sunflower, pumpkinVegans, people who are lactose intolerant
Bourbon VanillaSkimmed milk, milk and whey proteinAnyone who wants the more "classic", creamier taste
Coconut, Mango, Forest Fruits, Mousse au chocolatVaries by flavourCheck the sheet for the individual flavour before ordering

My advice: if you have no intolerances, Bourbon Vanilla is the most versatile (it works with coffee, cocoa or fruit); if you want a vegan, lactose-free product, take Chocolate. Don't buy a big pack of a flavour you have never tasted: the number one reason meal replacements end up at the back of a cupboard is the wrong flavour.

Product sheets: ProShape Chocolate, ProShape Bourbon Vanilla.

How to prepare it

The instructions change slightly from flavour to flavour, and it is worth following them because they change the final calorie count too:

  • Chocolate (vegan): 3 level scoops (32.3 g) in 300 ml of unsweetened soy drink or another plant drink, using a shaker or a blender.
  • Bourbon Vanilla: around 2 slightly heaped scoops (32.3 g) in 230 ml of semi-skimmed milk (1.5%).

How many a day: one or two shakes, each in place of a main meal. One shake equals one meal. The label is clear: for the effect on weight you have to replace two main meals a day, and the rest of the diet has to include other foods. Drink at least 2 litres of calorie-free fluid a day.

The classic mistake: making it with whole milk, then adding a banana and peanut butter. The 250 kcal meal becomes a 500 kcal meal and the point of the product disappears.

Does ProShape make you lose weight?

The correct answer is the one printed on the label: replacing two of the main daily meals of an energy-restricted diet with meal replacements contributes to weight loss; replacing one of them contributes to the maintenance of weight after weight loss. That is an authorised claim, but it comes with two conditions attached: "of an energy-restricted diet", and other foods must be part of the diet.

Translated: ProShape does nothing on its own. It works because it removes the hardest part of a diet, cooking a 250 kcal meal that keeps you full, without weighing anything and without thinking about it. If dinner is a shake and lunch is a pizza, there is no deficit and no result.

In my own journey I used it for about two months, one meal a day, in the period when I was working late and dinner was where I went off track. It solved that specific problem. The 30 kg came off through a moderate calorie deficit, a daily walk and sleep: I go into the detail in the realistic plan to lose 10 kg.

What to expect: satiety, taste, convenience

  • Satiety: it holds me for three to four hours. The protein and the fibre do the work; made with water instead of milk or a plant drink, satiety drops.
  • Taste: Bourbon Vanilla is good and creamy; Chocolate has the aftertaste typical of pea protein, which some people don't enjoy. Blending it with ice improves it a lot.
  • Convenience: 60 seconds with a shaker. That is the real advantage over cooking.
  • Digestion: the fibre and the inulin can cause bloating in the first few days. It passes.

Contraindications and who I don't recommend it to

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding, children and teenagers: no, because of the caffeine and because that is not the moment for an energy-restricted diet.
  • Allergies: the Bourbon Vanilla version contains milk and soy; Chocolate contains soy. Always check the current label of the flavour you have chosen.
  • Medical conditions and medication: diabetes, kidney problems, weight-related treatments — speak to your doctor first. The interactions worth knowing about are in the article on side effects and safety of FitLine products.
  • Anyone looking for a shortcut: if you are not prepared to change the other meals too, don't spend this money.
  • Beyond a few weeks: replacing two meals a day over a long period should be agreed with a doctor or a nutritionist.

Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.

Price: what one meal costs

A 420 g pack contains 13 servings and the list price is 43.69 euro in Italy: around 3.36 euro per meal, plus the milk or plant drink. Registering as a Team Partner (roughly 20% off) brings it down to about 2.70 euro. Prices vary from country to country, so check the figures for your own market.

It is expensive next to a whey (0.80-1.20 euro per serving), but the fair comparison is with the meal it replaces: lunch in a café costs 8-12 euro. The comparison with the other shakes is in the ranking of protein shakes for weight loss.

To pay less: a 5% discount code on your first order (FitLine discount code) or Team Partner registration (become a partner). The full price list is in the guide to FitLine prices. On Amazon and eBay it is uncontrolled resale: not recommended.

If you need to replace a meal, you need a meal replacement. If all you need is to raise your protein intake, whey costs less and does the job.

Frequently asked questions

How many shakes a day can I have? One or two, each in place of a main meal. No more than that, and not for long periods without speaking to a professional.

Is ProShape vegan? It depends on the flavour: Chocolate yes (pea, sunflower and pumpkin protein), Bourbon Vanilla no (milk). For the other flavours, check the product sheet.

Does it contain caffeine? Yes, around 20 mg per serving from the green coffee and mate extracts. That is why it is not suitable for children or during pregnancy.

Can I use it for breakfast? Yes, but if your breakfast is already good, you are better off replacing the meal you handle worst, usually dinner.

How long does a pack last? 13 servings: 13 days with one shake a day, just under a week with two.

Can I take it alongside PowerCocktail? Yes: PowerCocktail in the morning for the micronutrients, ProShape in place of a meal. Just watch the total caffeine, because both contain a little. The guide is here: PowerCocktail: what it is for.

Conclusion

ProShape All-in-1 is a well-made meal replacement: complete by law, pleasant in the vanilla version, available in a vegan option, and carrying the only weight-related claim it is lawful to make. It is expensive, it contains sugar and a little caffeine, and it does nothing by itself. It makes sense for anyone who has one "difficult" meal in the day and wants to solve it without cooking. It makes no sense for anyone hoping to find a powder that does the losing for them.
